Xivoni is an actuarial consulting firm started in 2016. Xivoni means mirror in Xitsonga. This word encompasses the idea of people working together to fulfill a common goal.

Xivoni is a 100% black youth owned (25% black female owned) and controlled company.

We are BEE compliant with a level 1 status and the highest possible procurement of 135%.

Meet The Partners

Melusi Baloyi (FASSA)

BSc Actuarial Science (Cum Laude) University of Pretoria

Melusi is a Partner and Co-founder of Xivoni Actuaries and Consultants. He has over 9 years’ experience in the life insurance, funeral insurance and reinsurance industry.

Melusi has been a lead in assisting clients with a business plan required for the microinsurance application process and is well equipped to help the client with this process. Melusi has led teams of senior actuaries and managing complex projects under time pressure and has delivered on time and under budget. He has experience working with actuaries in North America, South-East Asia, Europe and Africa. He has vast experience managing expectations of senior management, such as CFOs, CEOs as well as presenting to the Board.

Life insurance and reinsurance valuations
Funeral insurance pricing and product development
Statutory reporting and liaising with the regulator
Actuarial modelling using Prophet and Excel tools
Actuarial audit and capital management experience

Abongile Jojo

BCom Actuarial Science (UCT)

Abongile is a Partner and Co-founder of Xivoni Actuaries and Consultants. He has over 9 years’ experience in the life insurance industry. His experience includes consulting, running actuarial valuations and reporting team as well as working for some of the largest insurance companies in South Africa.

Specific experience include:

Leading valuation teams, presenting with senior management & the Boards
End to end life insurance valuations for SA and Rest of SA clients in all bases
Balance sheet management and budgeting
Pricing individual and group business in the SA and Rest of Africa clients
Prophet modelling, model management, independent model reviews and model audits in Prophet and Excel
Embedded value, Value of New Business and Solvency calculations reporting and reviewing
Due diligences and assisted the independent actuary on a transfer of insurance companies
